What is the difference between this starter and the 435315 starter that is 2.5x more expensive? Both are listed as replacements for the original 36680 Tecumseh starter.

Dave, both are aftermarket starters. 435315 is an aftermarket Stens starter, while STC0006 is from Arrowhead. They both will work as are replacements for the 36680 Tecumseh starter.
